Former Secretary Son La nominated to be dairy boss
Mr. Hoang Van Chat, Secretary and Chairman of the Son La Provincial People’s Council for the 2015-2019 period, was nominated to become an independent member of the board of directors of the Moc Chau Dairy Farming Company.
If elected at the annual general meeting of shareholders later this month, Mr Chat will become the fifth member of the Board of Directors for the 2020-2024 term, replacing the recently resigned Mr Nguyen Anh Tuan.
Mr Chat is 63 years old, born in Nam Dinh and currently living in Moc Chau, Son La. He started his career in 1981 as an employee at Son La Agricultural Company. After that, he took up leadership positions in Mai Son district and Son La province. From February 2015 to August 2019, he was elected Chairman of the People’s Council concurrently Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Son La province.
Remuneration for Mr. Chat at Moc Chau Dairy Farming Company is expected to be 8 million dong per month, similar to other members and only lower than Ms. Mai Kieu Lien – who holds the position of president.

According to this company charter, the Board of Directors will fluctuate from 3-5 people and must have at least 1 person as an independent member. The duties of independent members are usually to oversee and maintain control over the operations of the company.
Moc Chau Dairy Cattle Breeding Company is currently an indirect subsidiary of Vinamilk. 3 of the 4 members of the Board of Directors of this company are the leaders of Vinamilk.
Last year, the company had a net income of 2,926 billion dong and an after-tax profit of nearly 320 billion dong. The company aims to increase revenue by almost 7% this year to VND 3,122 billion and profit to around VND 344 billion. Expected cash dividend of at least 50% of profit after tax.
