This newly recaptured zone would allow Ukrainian forces to control a key highway and prevent Russian troops from encircling the capital Kiev from the northwest.

However, Ukraine’s Defense Ministry admits that Russian troops may have taken part of other suburbs in the northwest such as Bucha, Hostomel and Irpin. These areas have been attacked almost continuously since Russia launched a special operation in Ukraine.

A senior US official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Russia has stepped up its air strikes over the past two days. Accordingly, Moscow has carried out up to 300 bombing raids in the past 24 hours and fired more than 1,100 missiles into Ukraine since the start of the invasion of Ukraine.

In a new report released, the Ukrainian military stated that the Russian army’s stockpile of ammunition and food would only last no more than three days. The Russian military’s fuel situation was similar, so the maneuver was quite chaotic. However, Russian troops are forecast to continue to attack critical infrastructure in Ukraine with high-precision weapons.
