On the morning of March 8, after seeing some newspapers published a Vespa 946 special edition Christian Dior model on display and for sale in Vietnam, I decided to find a way to buy it,” Nguyen said.
Mr. Nguyen added that he had called all Vespa dealers, large and small, but none were available because they had already received all the deposits.
“In the most desperate moment and almost giving up, I posted an article on Facebook and sought the help of the online community. In the end, I was introduced to the dealer in Ba Ria Vung Tau by a friend who still had a Vespa 946 Christian Dior. You agree to sell me at the original price plus a little difference. I consider this a reasonable level, so I decided to deposit immediately,” Nguyen shared.
After nearly 20 days of deposit, the Vespa 946 Christian Dior special edition was also handed over to the owner of the technology retail system in Ho Chi Minh City.
According to Nguyen, this is a passionate gift for his wife. “My wife loves this motorcycle very much. Because my house is close to the company, I just like to ride a motorbike every day for convenience and don’t like to ride a car. Therefore, I think it is reasonable to change the regular 946 to this one. The car has spiritual value, makes me very happy, especially women who love fashion. I think when Dior combines Vespa, this is no longer an ordinary car but has become a fashion and collectible product that will hardly be outdated,” said Nguyen.
Vespa 946 Christian Dior launched to the world in mid-2020. This is a milestone marking the cooperation between the Italian scooter brand and the famous French fashion house. The car is limited to 946 units worldwide. In early 2021, Piaggio Vietnam introduced and received orders with limited quantity.
Currently, the price of Vespa 946 Christian Dior is still “dancing” by day in Vietnam, there are places selling for 1.6 billion, which is 900 million difference from the original price.
The difference between Vespa 946 Christian Dior and the regular version comes from the paint color and accompanying accessories. Vespa 946 Christian Dior wears a beige color combination with yellow accents and decorative motifs typical of the French fashion brand.
Powering the Vespa 946 Christian Dior is still a single cylinder engine, 125 cc capacity, producing 11.7 horsepower at 8,250 rpm and 10.3 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. minute. Safety features include ABS brakes and ASR anti-skid system.
