Elon Musk

Billionaire Elon Musk’s fortune skyrockets in 2021 along with the market price of electric car company Tesla and the valuation of aerospace company SpaceX. The world’s first dollar billionaire was John D. Rockefeller in 1916. He was the founder of Standard Oil, the oil giant that was split up because of monopoly concerns.

It took 83 years for the $100 billion milestone to be established, that person was none other than Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates. Currently, 9 billionaires with a net worth of at least $100 billion (also known as centibillionaire) have a chance to become a trillion-dollar entrepreneur.

A study from Approve.com compared individuals’ net worth against average annual wealth gain to see who would be the first to join the trillion club. Mr. Musk tops the list of the world’s richest people with $522 billion and also leads in year-over-year gains (129%). The combined factors suggest that Musk could become a trillion-dollar entrepreneur in two years – in 2024 – at the age of 52.

The next one is Gautam Adani from India. He and his family are the owners of the commercial group Adani Group. Research indicates he could reach a fortune of $1 trillion by 2025.

Founder and Chairman of ByteDance, TikTok’s parent company, Zhang Yi Ming is third on the list. He has the opportunity to stand with Elon Musk in 2026. Next is Bernald Arnault, Chairman and CEO of luxury group LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA and Jeff Bezos, the owner of Amazon. He has been dethroned by Musk as the world’s richest man and has a 24% annual growth rate of wealth.

Zhang Yi Ming

Elon Musk may be the first trillion-dollar businessman, but the youngest is not him. With a 123% year-over-year growth in wealth, ByteDance’s Zhang Yi Ming will join the trillion-dollar club in 2026 at the age of 42. Thus, he will be the youngest person to win the title.

Google co-founder Larry Page has a net worth of $199 billion at the age of 48. With an average growth rate of 27% per year, he is expected to hit $1 trillion in 2032 at the age of 58.
