Media reported on March 26, an unfortunate and discontented accident happened in the area of the Rio Negro (Black River) river in the Educandos district, the city of Manaus, northern Brazil. A young man died after falling into the river, but not from drowning as usual, but from being attacked by a predatory fish.
The victim was a 21-year-old professional football player named Luiz Henrique Coelho de Andrade. On that fateful afternoon, Luiz was on his way home from a game when suddenly a lot of police surrounded him. Because he was so scared, he ran away despite completely not understanding what was happening. The policemen also opened fire in the air to signal Luiz to stop.
The victim was a young professional soccer player
Arriving at the Rio Negro river, in confusion, the young man jumped into the river to escape the arrest of the police. Because he couldn’t swim, he struggled for a long time. The victim’s family confirmed that a small boat was initially trying to help, but the police ashore ordered them not to interfere. That’s why Luiz sank into the river.
It was not until 11 hours later that the rescue team was able to find the young man. But right now, he was in a state of extreme grief. Luiz’s body is almost a skeleton. The flesh of the ill-fated victim was eaten by a fish called Piranha in the river. Piranha is a freshwater fish in the American tropics, although small in size, they are still “Death” because they often attack and eat live animals.

The victim’s tragic condition shocked everyone who witnessed it
According to Ms. Leila Coelho, Luiz’s mother is now extremely heartbroken and angry when she learns the cause of her son’s accident. It turned out that the policemen chasing him had misidentified him and thought Luiz was a fugitive. Relatives asked the police officers involved in the chase to be held responsible for causing the death of the male player. Because of the silly confusion as well as the aggressive and scary attitude of the police, Luiz had to jump into the river even though he was completely innocent, not even understanding why he was being chased.
The case is still being investigated by the Brazilian police and received a lot of public attention.
