Currently, it is not clear what the truth is, but if it is true what MXH shares, depression does not seem to be properly assessed as dangerous and needs to be taken care of.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has forecast that by 2020, depression will be the second most common illness globally with 121 million people affected.

This disease kills 850,000 people every year worldwide.

WHO recommends that the abandonment, or marginalization of people with depression, is a major problem that prevents many people from seeking help.

According to Dr. CCII Vu Kim Hoan, Ho Chi Minh City Psychiatric Hospital, Nowadays, the process of urbanization, the difficulties in life, the increasing pressure of work, causes conflicts in the family and society.

If we do not respond to this change, this pressure… can easily lead to depression and a host of other illnesses. For a long time, he becomes bored, thinking pessimistic, even more serious, intends to commit suicide.

Usually 30-40 years old and older are prone to depression. Women after giving birth, patients after stroke, stroke, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, diabetes… are very susceptible to depression.

Notably, patients are rarely aware that they are ill and because there are many stereotypes about mental illness, they do not immediately go to a mental hospital for examination. When there are abnormal symptoms, they only think they have physical diseases, so they often go to specialists such as cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology… for examination.

If you go to many places for medical examination, the disease does not improve but gets worse before you go to a psychiatric facility for treatment, or be transferred to a non-specialized medical facility.

Doctor Hoan recommended, due to pressure in life, conflicts in the family; in society, at work or study…, anyone can experience a depressive episode, so it is necessary to recognize and detect abnormal symptoms to adjust to life. When the symptoms become more severe, it is necessary to seek medical attention and proper treatment.

Common symptoms of depression: sadness, loss of interest in daily activities, loss of hope; sleep disturbances, changes in appetite, weight loss, decreased or lost sex drive, fatigue, decreased energy; feeling worthless, preoccupied with thinking too much about death or suicide…
