Promoting trade and investment between Nghe An province and Haryana state, India

As part of a series of trade and investment promotion events between the two countries, the seminar was organized by the Indian Embassy in Vietnam and the Indian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City, in collaboration with the Haryana state government of India and Nghe An Provincial People’s Committee.

The seminar attracted the participation of 70 delegates who are speakers and businesses from Haryana state and Nghe An province.

In his opening remarks, Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Pranay Verma emphasized the importance of local cooperation as one of the important pillars of the India-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.

Ambassador Pranay Verma said that during a meeting with Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee Thai Thanh Quy in October 2020, the two sides discussed measures to further strengthen cooperation between India and Nghe An.

After the visit, the Embassy of India successfully implemented two projects with fast efficiency in Yen Thanh and Nam Dan districts. The discussion between Haryana state and Nghe An province is a concrete implementation of the discussed contents.

The Ambassador emphasized that both Haryana state and Nghe An province are two important localities in the economic development of India and Vietnam. Both localities are located in strategic locations of each country and have great opportunities to share development experiences.

In his speech, Deputy Minister of Haryana State Government Yogendra Chaudhary said that Haryana is a state with great development and has the highest per capita income in India.

In each state district, the state government has developed economic and industrial zones with good governance. The state of Haryana has become a factory for many industries including agriculture, food processing, automobile industry…

The State Deputy Minister hoped that the Seminar would open up new opportunities for cooperation between Haryana state of India and Nghe An province of Vietnam.

For his part, Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People’s Committee Le Ngoc Hoa introduced the characteristics of the province. Specifically, Nghe An has emerged as an attractive destination for foreign investors thanks to its efforts to improve the business investment environment.

In order to develop the province in a sustainable way with the strategy of attracting green investment, Nghe An focuses on green development in which the focus is on infrastructure development including connection infrastructure, industrial park infrastructure, development human resources and attract investment in high technology.

Priority sectors to attract investment to Nghe An include electronics industry, information technology, mechanical engineering and assembly, digital industry, renewable energy, biotechnology and supporting industries.

Speaking at the end of the talk, Dr. Madan Mohan Sethi, Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh emphasized the importance of exchanges between localities of Vietnam and states in India.

The Consul General of India requested the Haryana State Government to coordinate with the Indian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City to connect more with localities in the South.
