‘King of martial arts’ Vuong Vu passed away

Vuong Vu, known as the “King of Martial Arts” in the first generation of Chinese-language films, died on the morning of April 5, at the age of 80.

Above Appledaily, Vuong Gia Lo – Vuong Vu’s second daughter – said that the artist died of respiratory failure at a hospital in Taipei, Taiwan. Vuong Gia Lo is waiting for her sister in Hong Kong and her sister in Canada to return to Taiwan to take care of the aftermath.

Gia Lo wrote on her personal page: “Dad, rest assured, in the past few days, you have suffered a lot. Now, you are liberated and reborn. In the audience’s heart, you are always a great hero. In my heart, I am the most resilient warrior.”

In the last years of his life, Vuong Vu often had to go to the hospital. His health has declined since 2015 due to two strokes of cerebral blood vessels. He could not speak, walk, and was confined to a wheelchair.

Wang Yu’s real name is Vuong Chinh Quan, born in 1943 in Shanghai, China. In 1964, he moved to Hong Kong to begin his acting career, initially working for Thieu Thi Huynh De.
