On the evening of April 11, a large fire broke out in the seafood business area of Ha Long 1 market in Hong Gai ward (Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province), burning down more than 30 stalls.
According to some owners whose kiosks were on fire, around 8 p.m. on April 11, the fire was discovered.
At this time, the market is empty, but the stalls contain flammable items such as foam boxes, air conditioners, refrigerators, electricity, oxygen aerators, etc. to serve the seafood business. When it broke out, the fire spread quickly, burning over 30 stalls. The remaining 7 stalls were fortunate not to be burnt.
The fire did not cause any loss of life, but most of the business households’ properties were burned.
People present at the scene said that the on-site fire prevention and fighting force of the Vincom building, about 100m away, promptly responded and controlled the fire.
Immediately after, the police force for fire prevention, fighting and rescue, Quang Ninh Provincial Police mobilized vehicles and firefighting forces.
After about 30 minutes, the fire was contained and extinguished.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the authorities.
