Tran Van Dang was born in 2000, at the 2021 national championship, he overcame the reigning SEA Games gold medalist Duong Van Thai to win the gold medals in the 800m and 1500m content. Van Dang is considered to be the gold medal hope at the 31st SEA Games of Vietnamese athletics.
