According to Mr. Luong Minh Phuc – Director of Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Transportation Department), in 2022, the “hot spot” of Tan Son Nhat airport (Tan Binh district) and The gateway to Ho Chi Minh City will start a series of projects.

Specifically, in the area of ​​Tan Son Nhat airport, the project of opening a new route connecting Tran Quoc Hoan street – Cong Hoa street will be started. The project has a total investment of 4,800 billion VND, 4 km long, 25 – 48m wide for 6 lanes. This is a project that is expected to solve traffic pressure around Tan Son Nhat airport, especially when T3 terminal is put into operation.

The traffic department is rushing to complete the design, construction drawings, select contractors and strive to start the first bidding package in the second quarter of this year. “This is a bidding package to build an underground tunnel under Phan Thuc Duyen Street. The investor will then in turn start the remaining bidding packages, striving to complete them in 2024 to synchronize with the operation schedule of T3 station.” – said Mr. Phuc.

Along with the above work, at the gateway of Tan Son Nhat, the units also tried to start the expansion of Hoang Hoa Tham street and renovate Cong Hoa street.

Some other traffic projects that will be started by the investor in the near future are the construction of Rach Kinh bridge (Cu Chi district); Embankment to prevent river bank erosion in Giong Ong To bridge area (Thu Duc city).

In the area of ​​Cat Lai port, Mr. Luong Minh Phuc said, he will focus on implementing many projects around the port such as expanding Nguyen Duy Trinh street (from Ring Road 2 to the road to Phu Huu Industrial Park, Thu Duc City). ) is 1.6 km long, with a total capital of 832.2 billion VND.

At the same time, expanding Nguyen Thi Dinh street (section from My Thuy intersection to Cat Lai ferry) with a length of more than 1.9km, total investment of 1,443 billion VND. In addition, continue the phase 2 of My Thuy intersection with the expansion of Dong Van Cong street.

Another important project also started construction is An Phu intersection with a total investment of 4,000 billion VND, helping to connect the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay highway with Mai Chi Tho Avenue. “When the above projects are completed, they will help reduce traffic jams and accidents and increase the carrying capacity for the gateway of Cat Lai port,” said Mr. Phuc.

Besides roads and railways, Ho Chi Minh City has a very large waterway and maritime system, nearly 900km. In which, the waterway is about 500km long with a large port system.

With Long Thanh international airport, it is expected to put into operation phase 1 to welcome 25 million passengers/year. Thus in the future, including Long Thanh international airport along with belts 3 and 4 will be deployed according to the plan implemented by the city.
