Fat cat Garfield sleeping on the street, being swallowed by a python
According to the Daily Star, a video posted on social media shows Singaporean animal control officers catching a python with a large belly and taking it away from a residential area.
In the video, the python is resting next to the stairs, after having a full meal. The unfortunate creature that became the python’s lunch was a fat cat that roams the streets, according to local media.
Singaporean netizen wrote: “A cute fat cat living nearby has been eaten by a python”.
“Never leave pets on the street unattended. Please adopt feral cats,” the message read.

It is not clear how the python caught the yellow fat cat, because cats are creatures with quick reflexes in the animal world.
The python may have cleverly camouflaged, taking advantage of the opportunity to launch an attack when the cat is fast asleep.
A Singaporean woman who said she knew Garfield, shared: “That python was 2.5 meters long. They came to take it away.”
The staff present took the python away from the residential area.
One Singaporean netizen commented: “My condolences to the people who raised Garfield. RIPs”.
Pythons are native to Singapore and there are more and more cases of pythons entering residential areas to hunt mice and cats.
The Singapore Animal Research and Education Association says cats are highly curious creatures. It is very easy to get close to where the python hides and become good prey.
Experts admit this is a very common occurrence in the Singapore environment. “We regret this sad story. Pythons are also living creatures and they just want to try to survive.”
