Garbage flooded the road to villas, high-class apartments, people plan to ‘cold fine’

People call alley 236 An Duong Vuong street “garbage alley” because at the beginning of this alley, garbage is piled up for tens of meters, overflowing onto the road.

Alley 236, An Duong Vuong Street, Ward 16 (District 8, Ho Chi Minh City) is the road leading to the area with many luxury villas and An Duong Vuong – Dien Luc apartment buildings. However, what makes many people difficult to understand is that the road to the “rich area” is filled with garbage, emitting a strong odor.

The abandoned house at the beginning of alley 236 An Duong Vuong became a garbage collection place.

The spontaneous garbage pile stretched tens of meters from the beginning of the alley to the houses inside. Ms. Luong Thi Hoa (local) said: “Because this alley is near the spontaneous market on An Duong Vuong Street, some traders often come here to steal garbage. For a long time, the garbage has been piled up, stretched in a long line in the alley, and stinks.”

On heavy rainy days, the alley is muddy and the dirty water in the garbage flows out giving off a strong stench. Local people said that many people had fallen from their cars because the alley was sinking and slippery.

Mr. Le Bay (living in ward 16, district 8) pressed: “In the alley there are many villas worth tens of billions of dong. However, looking at the muddy road and the huge pile of garbage in front of many people, many people had to shake their heads in dismay. In the past few months, the pile of garbage is getting bigger and bigger, but no one has come to clean it up.”

In the big garbage bags, there are also the carcasses of long-dead animals that have been decomposed, giving off a strong stench.

The rainy season is coming, people living in alley 236 An Duong Vuong are bored when thinking about the flooded alley, floating garbage.

According to local people, in order to clear the spontaneous landfill in alley 236 An Duong Vuong, local authorities need to install cameras to “cold fine” those who dump stolen garbage. In the long term, the government needs to have a plan to clean up the spontaneous market bordering 3 districts: Binh Tan, 6 and 8.
