Đông Tây - Kim Cổ

Who is the real culprit who lost Tang Tang’s robe?

Obviously, this is just a story in a novel, a story created by the fictional talent of writer Ngo Thua An.

Why not let a youkai steal the coffee? Ah! It’s not logical why youkai would steal the cassava even though this one is so precious.

There is no denying that in this matter, Hac Hung Tinh and the old monk clearly showed greed.

And we understand that the story of stealing a robe at Quan Am Institute is an exaggeration to talk about the great harm of greed, one of the three poisons in the Buddha’s teachings.

Greed for immortality, greed for wealth, greed for form, greed for fame, Tang San Tang is the subject of attacks by greed.

However, it is fair to say that, in fact, Hac Hung Tinh and the monk are not really the real culprits. But the person who started everything was Sun Wukong.

In the episode “Drawing on the Quan Yin Institute” of the movie Journey to the West, Ton Ngo Khong finally boasted about the treasure of his master’s robe, which led to the desire to rob this precious object.

Because of Ton Ngo Khong’s bragging, it showed that the monk game got into a lot of trouble and caused a lot of trouble for many people involved.

Confucianism has a saying: A person’s happiness depends on whether he is humble or arrogant.

Wukong, driven by the mind of fame and profit, flaunts his treasures, it’s a small thing to look at. It’s just a joke, but strictly speaking, it’s bragging about his ego, relying on his own talent, then he will be in trouble. into the body.

Black Hung Tinh appeared in the 16th act because of Wukong’s anger.

The original Hac Hung Tinh was a black bear, residing in Hac Phong cave, once stole a kashāya in the fire of the monastery.

Finally, Hac Hung Tinh was subdued and accepted as a disciple by Guan Yin Bodhisattva.

This monster has high martial arts skills, once again loves the Buddhadharma, considers the kashāya robe as a treasure, later becomes the guardian of Quan Am’s mountain, cultivating righteous results.

In Journey to the West, it is not difficult to see that Tang Tang’s robe and staff are listed in the list of ancient and rare treasures, coveted by mortals, greedy demons, even gods and goddesses. admiring the desire to own.

Guanyin Bodhisattva followed the Buddha’s words, took the kashāya robe and stored his staff in the body of the old monk to the Eastern Land of Dai Duong.

Seeing Tang Sang preaching the Dharma in the capital, he loudly said: “A robe, a staff and a precious staff. Those who understand precious things, I will give them. Those who do not understand thousands of gold will not sell them.”

Surprised, King Thai Tong asked the monk why these two treasures were so expensive. The monk slowly said: “Your Majesty, the robe costs 5,000 taels, the staff costs 2,000 taels. This robe is made of silk silk released in ribbons, woven by fairies and swans. On the shirt are many treasures, wearing this robe will not be immersed in hell, sitting will be greeted by ten thousand saints, walking will be accompanied by seven holy buddhas. go to hell, and will not experience evil calamities, and will not be afflicted with wolves.”

If possessing these two things, anyone can avoid falling into the cycle of reincarnation (ie, eternal life) and not be harmed by poison.

Not only that, talking about these two treasures, Buddha Tathagata personally advised before that: “This kashāya robe and staff are given to the person who takes the sutra to use. If that person wears my kashāya robe, can be spared the cycle of reincarnation, holding this staff may not be poisoned”.

The robe and scepter in the movie Journey to the West not only have material value, but above all, it has a very deep meaning.

Remember that year Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva gave the robe and the staff to the Tang Sangha, without those two treasures, there would be no accident at Hac Phong mountain, and the demons wouldn’t have the opportunity to steal treasures!
