Lexus RZ 450e is the first electric vehicle using a dedicated chassis of the Japanese luxury brand and is basically a high-end version with the Lexus logo of Toyota bZ4X as well as Subaru Solterra. The car has been confirmed to launch online on April 20.
This week, Lexus released the first teaser video for the electric SUV that reveals the vehicle’s performance during development and testing. The overall exterior frame of the Lexus RZ 450e is completely similar to the Toyota bZ4X, the difference is that the car has a prominent 2-tone paint configuration and the luxury brand’s own logo.
While the exterior may look like the original, the interior of the Lexus RZ 450e offers quite a few improvements over the bZ4X.
Except for the same U-shaped steering wheel, the center screen integrated with the infotainment system on the Lexus RZ 450e is noticeably larger in size and blends more harmoniously with the rest of the dashboard. The gearshift lever system and the center console of the Lexus SUV are also completely different from the original.
The powertrain of the Lexus RZ 450e is sure to have at least two versions, a 201 hp single motor with a 71.4 kWh battery and a 214 hp twin motor with a 72.8 kWh battery. The operating range of the two versions above, referencing from Toyota bZ4X, is 405 and 365 km, respectively.
