At the same time, the company commits that from April 8-10, 2022, it will level the ground for 3 positions that this company has “wrongly” scooped up on Ms. Thay’s land. However, up to now (April 20), the company has not leveled all the land that has been scooped “wrongly”.

In 2019, the unit started construction of the project and “wrongly” scooped up her family’s land that had not been compensated for site clearance.

“I have tried many times to prevent it, but the company’s people still deliberately scooped up the land that is not my compensation. Only when I filed a lawsuit, did the company come to negotiate compensation and promise to level and return the ground to me. However, now it’s overdue, the company has not done as promised,” Ms. Thay said angrily.

Ms. Thay’s family is very upset because the past 3 years have not been returned to the same ground for production.

An official at Ia Lop Commune People’s Committee confirmed: In 2021, the Commune People’s Committee worked with Ms. Thay and the Rural Development and Construction Investment Joint Stock Company. At the meeting, the company pledged to return the ground for the positions that had “wrongly” scooped up Ms. Thay’s land.

Talking over the phone, Mr. Phan Manh Cuong, a representative of the Investment Construction and Rural Development Joint Stock Company in Dak Lak, admitted that previously, the unit had “wrongly” scooped up about 5 sao (5,000m2) on the area. The land is not covered by Ms. Thay’s compensation.

According to Mr. Cuong, the company has supported Ms. Thay with 270 million VND for crop damage. In addition, the company also poured soil and leveled the ground at the request of the family, but due to rain, mud, and machinery, they were focusing on constructing the canal, so it had not been completed in a timely manner.
