Handyman arrested in death of Queens mother stabbed 58 times, found in duffel bag

A man was arrested on Thursday following the death of a Queens mother The man was stabbed nearly 60 times and his body was found in a duffel bag over the weekend, the New York City Police Department said.

David Bonola, 44, was taken into custody on charges of murder, criminal forgery and possession of a weapon in the murder of Orsolya Gaal, according to police.

Gaal, a 51-year-old mother of two, was found in a bag abandoned by the side of the road on the corner of Metropolitan Avenue and Jackie Robinson Parkway in Forest Hills shortly after 8 a.m. Saturday, the NYPD said.

Bonola was a thug who lived near the victim, according to three law enforcement sources.

Sources said he went to the victim’s home and killed her in the basement of the house after an argument.

Gaal suffered 58 stab wounds to the neck, torso, arms and hands, police sources said earlier.

The New York City Medical Examiner’s Office classified Gaal’s death as homicide by “a sharp force wound to the neck.”
