Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the Russian government had transferred to Kiev a draft document that reads “absolutely clear, meticulous wording.” emphasize “The ball is now in Ukraine’s court”.

Kremlin spokesman accused Ukraine “inconsistency” and changed his mind during the negotiations, arguing that Kiev “There is no sign of wanting to speed up the negotiation process.”

During his visit to Ukraine, European Council President Charles Michel reaffirmed the EU’s support for the Eastern European country in the fight against Russia’s special military operation.

Russia and Ukraine have held many rounds of face-to-face and online negotiations to resolve the current military conflict. March 29 was the last time the members of the two sides’ negotiating teams met face-to-face.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the negotiations between the two sides had reached an impasse. He explained Ukraine had refused to fulfill some of Russia’s main demands – recognition of Crimea as part of Russia and independence of the Donbass republics.

Putin’s comments came after Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov’s announcement that Kiev had submitted new written proposals that differed from those presented in face-to-face negotiations. According to Lavrov, the new proposal does not mention Crimea.

Regarding the negotiated agreement, in an interview with CNN last week, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that a peace agreement with Russia could include two separate documents, addressing two main issues – ensuring security security for Kiev and its future relationship with Moscow.

According to Zelensky, the Kremlin now wants a comprehensive document that covers all issues. However, because of the security guarantees involved in other countries, the two documents could be a solution.
