Many new works to celebrate Vietnam Book Day 2022
On the evening of April 21, the Ho Chi Minh City General Publishing House held a launch ceremony book It’s okay to love a little and exchange with author Phuong Huyen. The collection of short stories consists of 21 short stories written by the author over the course of 4 or 5 years, but distilled and profound with gentle content, not tragic.

In addition to writing books, Phuong Huyen has also worked as a reporter, editor, and broadcaster on the Voice of Ho Chi Minh City radio for more than 15 years, in charge of programs on literature and psychology. Thus, she had the opportunity to be close to the audience that gave her a lot of life material. She listens to them, appreciating the stories others come to share. From there, short stories were born.
“When I write, I often don’t think about putting a story or sending a deep message. Each reader will have a different feeling when reading the work. Maybe I want to be able to more or less convey positivity through each book, how to become lighter. The pressures and worries of life are also lessened by today’s small but poetic things”, the female author shared.
Celebrate Book Day and Reading culture Vietnam for the first time – in 2022, Ho Chi Minh City General Publishing House also introduced new publications with a variety of topics such as: Travel, travel on Cochinchina weekly newspaper (Vo Van Thanh – Tran Thanh Trung collected); Prayers for wandering souls (Doan Tuan), Vietnamese culture seen from Vietnamese (Le Minh Quoc), Basic life skills – Life skills training book (Le Huy Khoa Kanata translated and collected); A handbook for critical thinking & effective reasoning (author: Colin Swatridge, translated by Nguyen Minh); Beautiful old ladies (Pham Thi Ngoc Lien); Timestamp – Aspiration of the ancients (Tran Bao Dinh)…
Along with nearly 20 publishers and publishers, General Publishing House on this occasion also brought thousands of books to the Book Day exhibition. Specifically, at Nguyen Van Binh Book Street and the stall at Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street will serve readers 2,000 titles and nearly 10,000 books, with preferential prices from 20 to 50%.
Following the spirit of Digital Transformation in the publishing industry, the Publishing House also offers free e-book titles for readers on websites and online platforms. In addition, readers can experience the form of reading books online at the ebook booth of Ho Chi Minh City General Publishing House at Nguyen Hue Walking Street.

The first Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day took place from April 19-24.
