Longest person with COVID-19 in the world: 505 days

This is the world’s longest COVID-19 case to date.

The patient was treated with the antiviral drug Remdesivir and passed away in 2021. The researchers declined to disclose the cause of death and said the patient had several other serious illnesses.

Persistent COVID-19 is rare and is different from persistent COVID. The difference is that with prolonged COVID, the virus has ceased to exist in the body, but symptoms are still present. As for persistent COVID-19, the virus continues to multiply in the body for a long time, making it impossible for the patient to completely recover.
