More than 236 million tons of goods passed through the seaport

In which, the volume of domestic goods throughput increased the most, with nearly 99 million tons, up 10%. Imported containers reached more than 2.8 million TEUs, up 8% over the same period last year.
Regarding the volume of container goods, calculated in 4 months, the throughput volume seaport about 8 million TEUs, up 2%. Imported container goods had the strongest growth rate with more than 2.8 million TEUs, up 8% over the same period last year.
“In April 2022 alone, the total volume through the seaport is estimated at 59 million tons, up 3%. Container goods are estimated at 2 million TEUs, up 2% over the same period in 2020,” the Maritime Administration said.
According to statistics of the Maritime Administration, some seaport areas have increased throughput of goods such as: Quang Ninh by 11%, Quang Nam by 19%, Dong Nai by 8%, Thanh Hoa by 6% (from 9.5 million tons to 10.1 million tons).
Some seaport areas saw a sharp decrease in cargo volume such as: Binh Thuan down 13%, Can Tho down 12%, Nghe An down 7%, Ha Tinh down 4%. Large seaports like Vung Tau also recorded a slight decrease of 3%.
