Since taking office, continuing the work of the previous term, the Government and the Prime Minister have had many meetings, worked, directed, considered and resolved the outstanding problems and problems with the Government. The goal is to soon complete the construction investment and put the project into operation and use.

The Prime Minister also assigned Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh to directly direct and urge this task. Up to the beginning of April, Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh had directly visited the factory site 4 times.

After many meetings of leaders of the Government, ministries, departments, sectors and the investor, PVN, to remove the project, the project has been rebuilt from the “freeze” position for many years.

The actual progress of the project at the present time has reached more than 93%; disbursement reached 84.91% (12,776 billion VND and 1,041.77 million USD equivalent to 35,491 billion VND/41,799 billion VND of total investment).

The remaining work of the project is focused on testing, acceptance and completion of the coal transportation system.

On February 23, 2022, the project completed the first oil burning milestone of Unit 1. The plant tested reverse energization by oil on May 6 and is expected to burn coal for the first time on June 16. . It is expected that on May 8 or May 9, the project will connect to the grid with oil from Unit 1.

The Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group is striving that by November 30, 2022, it will commercially operate Unit 1 of the Plant and commercially operate the entire Plant on December 31, 2022.

Do not use additional State budget for the project

6 lessons learned from “reviving” the project
