Thailand sets the target to be behind Vietnam at SEA Games 31

The 31st Southeast Asian Games will take place in Hanoi and 11 neighboring cities and provinces. The congress has the presence of 11 Southeast Asian sports delegations, organizing 40 competitions with 526 contents.

On May 12, the opening ceremony of the 31st SEA Games was held at My Dinh Stadium. However, some events were pre-competition and medals awarded.

The Vietnamese sports delegation has the largest number of athletes participating in the 31st SEA Games with 965 athletes.

Thailand U23 aims to compete for gold at SEA Games 31

Sharing with the media, a representative of the Thai Sports Authority said: “With this target number of gold medals, if we win, we will probably be ranked 2nd in the whole team after the very strong Vietnamese team and have the host advantage.

Thailand will try to win about 72 gold medals in international competitions such as swimming, athletics, boxing, cycling, football, weightlifting, golf, taekwondo, rowing, tennis, shooting and triathlon combination”.

SEA Games 31 is one of the important events of Vietnamese sports in 2022. The opening ceremony of SEA Games 31 lasts for 120 minutes with 3 main chapters including: friendly Vietnam, strong Southeast Asia and Southeast Asia shine.

The official slogan of the 31st SEA Games is called in English: “For a Stronger South East Asia” – For a stronger Southeast Asia. The official mascot of the 31st Southeast Asian Games is saola.
