In the clip, the guy and the driver are responsible for leading a doctor from Hanoi to Thien Truong Stadium (Nam Dinh) to promptly provide medical assistance to the Singapore U23 team players before the match against U23 Laos. on May 1st.

After taking the doctor to meet the Vietnam Organizing Committee, Trung and the driver took advantage of the football match between the two teams. And when the final whistle sounded, all the work was completed, Trung and the driver brought the doctor back to Hanoi.

In addition to coordinating with the driver to support the shuttle, the main task of Thanh Trung is still translating for the Singapore delegation. Unlike many other volunteers, Trung does not work directly with Singapore athletes, but mainly supports the Logistics team. They include doctors, nutritionists, or members of management, in charge of transporting athletes to ensure the most favorable work.

Trung had unforgettable memories as an interpreter of the Singapore delegation

According to Thanh Trung, a similar working day usually lasts from early morning to late night. The amount that Trung is paid for a day to support the Singapore delegation is about 200,000 VND. The amount is not too much, but for Trung, the entire time as an interpreter for the Singapore delegation was a memorable experience.

“I remember when I was taking the doctor to Thien Truong Stadium, because there was a little problem, people mistook me for the Vietnam BTC delegation, but I worked on the Singapore team. Because of this little mistake. So at first, the BTC side did not allow me to enter the stadium area.The security work was checked extremely strictly.

After struggling for a while, I finally got on the field. However, thanks to that small incident, I had the opportunity to witness the thoughtfulness and professionalism of BTC. You always ensure the security work for every match to go smoothly and safely.”, Trung shared.

Strict interview conditions, little support but all very… worth it!

To become an interpreter of the Singapore delegation, Trung also has a very good English background and a not-so-medium academic record. He has a TOEIC 925/990 certificate, and has many years of experience as an English tutor and teaching assistant for English centers.

Currently, Trung is a student majoring in Intelligent Management, taught in English, from National Economics University. Trung’s excellent GPA is about 3.7/4.0, and he also received many large and small scholarships during his schooling.

One of the must-have conditions for volunteers working as interpreters is a foreign language

Although he has good foreign language ability, in the face-to-face interview when he signed up to volunteer at the 31st SEA Games, he was also a bit surprised and did not believe in his ability.

“The interview questions were not too difficult, but the SEA Games is a big event, so I was a bit nervous during the face-to-face interview. Besides, nVolunteers like me need to ensure stable health, no Covid because we work directly with your country’s sports team. I once talked to the doctors of the Singapore delegation, they said that the doctor’s task is to ensure the health of about 400 athletes, a relatively difficult task.”Story Center.

The workload is large, the support money is not too much, but according to Thanh Trung, all are worth it. Because not only did he have more memories, he also learned a lot of things. For example, through the time supporting the Singapore delegation, Trung has learned a lot of great lessons from the members of your country, such as problem-solving style or professional way of working.

It is known that although the 31st SEA Games officially took place in early May, from 2-3 months ago, Trung coordinated with some members of the Singapore delegation to survey the terrain and arrange accommodation for athletes. , and at the same time learn some essential facilities such as hospitals, training grounds.

“I remember one memory, once the Singapore delegation had some problems in arranging hotel rooms for athletes. But they calmly solved the problem and worked hard at the same time.
