Man in Can Tho stabbed his wife to death and then committed suicide by drinking two pesticides

On May 16, the People’s Procuracy of Can Tho City said that it had just approved the decision to prosecute the accused and take into custody Tran Phuoc Loc (39 years old, living in Phu Thu ward, Cai Rang district) for the act of “murder”. .

Tran Phuoc Loc is the suspect who murdered his wife and then committed suicide.

According to initial investigation results, suspect Loc and Ms. NTNB (35 years old) are married, have a 10-year-old child together. Ms. B. works in the business of beauty services in Phu Thu ward, Cai Rang district. And Loc does not have a stable job.

From February 2022, Loc suspected that his wife had another man, so he was jealous. There were often conflicts between the couple. Ms. B. proposed a divorce, but Loc did not agree.

Last night 4/5, Ms. B. came home from work and had an argument with her husband. Loc stabbed his wife with a knife several times, then carried him to bed and covered himself with a blanket. Then, Loc took two bottles of insecticide to drink.

On the morning of 5/5, Loc called a relative of Ms. B. saying that he had killed his wife. When everyone arrived, they found Ms. B dead in her bedroom, so they reported it to the police.

Loc drank pesticides to commit suicide but did not die and was taken to the emergency room by his family.

The Can Tho City Police Investigation Agency cooperates with professional units to examine the scene and perform autopsies to serve the investigation.

Initially, suspect Loc confessed that because of jealousy, he stabbed his wife to death with a knife, then he drank poison to commit suicide.
