On the afternoon of May 18, Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee held a ceremony to celebrate Science and Technology Day, and honor the “Typical Intellectuals in Science – Technology” for the fourth time.

There are 59 typical intellectuals in science and technology of Binh Dinh honored in this round. Mr. Nguyen Phi Long – Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee – said that this 4th round of honoring typical intellectuals in science and technology has typical features, which are different from the previous 3 times.

That is the first time, 5 groups of criteria for selection have been honored intellectuals, in which, there is a case of winning the Ho Chi Minh Prize for science and technology.

The honored intellectuals operate in many fields such as state management, production and business activities with management capacity, entrepreneurs and direct workers.

The topics, projects, scientific research works as well as the solutions and initiatives of the selected intellectuals to be honored have all been implemented, applied in practice, and brought about effective results and won high awards. in technical innovation contests and State awards in science and technology; a number of intellectuals were awarded state honorary titles.

Mr. Le Van Du, general director of Minh Du Poultry Breeding Company Limited, is the first intellectual of Binh Dinh to be awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize in Science and Technology in 2021, honored in this round.

Mr. Du won the above valuable award for his research, testing, cross-breeding and breeding “3 combinations of domestic chicken breeds Minh Du Binh Dinh (MD1.BD, MD2.BD, MD3.BD)”. These complexes have been recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for technical progress and new technologies; The Ministry of Science and Technology granted the certificate of high-tech science and technology enterprise, and the People’s Committee of Binh Dinh province certified the Minh Du breed chicken to achieve the 5-star OCOP product.

Mr. Du is also the recipient of the Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award in 2021 and was previously awarded the title of Labor Hero.
