Caught in the act of buying dead pigs and selling them to the market

Right after that, the Economic Police Team, Binh Son District Police conducted verification, monitoring and caught Mr. Nguyen Lap (53 years old, residing in Phu Le village, Binh Trung commune, Binh Son district) who is motorbike driver BKS 76H6 – 4258 carrying 2 pigs (1 dead, 1 nearly dead) to gather at Mrs. Nguyen Thi Cao Khuyen’s house (47 years old), in Hanh Phuc village, Tinh An Dong commune, Quang city Ngai.

At the scene, police forces discovered 2 pigs being slaughtered and shaved. In addition, the police force also discovered that the freezer contained a lot of pork of unknown origin. The pig slaughtering area is not hygienic, the pork has a strong stench.

According to initial verification results, the pig slaughterhouse owned by Ms. Nguyen Thi Cao Khuyen operates stealthily, often purchasing dead sick pigs and then butchering them to the market for consumption.

Working with the authorities, Mr. Lap admitted that he often went to farms to buy dead pigs. If a pig is sick and nearly dies, it costs a few hundred thousand dong, and if a pig dies, it costs 100,000 to 150,000 dong.

Quang Ngai City Police Force, Veterinary Department and other functional units organized the scene examination, took pork samples for testing, investigated and strictly handled the behavior of Mr. Lap and Ms. Khuyen. The above pork was also destroyed overnight.

The case is currently under investigation by the authorities.
