Vietnam vs Japan, Korea

On the afternoon of May 26, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) held the drawing ceremony for the group stage of the 2022 Asian Futsal Finals. Vietnam Futsal team is in Group D with Japan, Korea and Saudi Arabia. .

Japan is the highest rated team in this group. The representative of the land of the rising sun is the runner-up of the 2018 tournament and is currently ranked 15th in the world. Vietnam Tel is rated the second strongest when it is ranked 41st.

Although considered a big force in Asia in 11-a-side football, the Futsal team of Korea and Saudi Arabia is not appreciated. Currently, the Kim Chi team is ranked 73rd in the world, while Saudi Arabia is ranked 82nd. Therefore, the Vietnamese Futsal team has many opportunities to pass the group stage of this tournament.

At the Asian Futsal Championship four years ago, Vietnam’s Futsal team was in Group A with Bahrain, Chinese Taipei and Malaysia. Coach Pham Minh Giang’s teachers and students lost 1-2 in the first match against Malaysia, but won the remaining 2 matches to win the first place in the group. However, coach Pham Minh Giang’s teachers and students lost the match against Uzbekistan with a score of 1-3 in the quarterfinals.

Normally, the Asian Futsal Championship takes place every 2 years. However, the 2020 tournament scheduled to take place in Chinese Taipei was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, this is the first time this tournament has returned after 4 years.

The 2022 Asian Futsal Championship is expected to take place in Kuwait from September 25 to October 20, 2022. The defending champion of this tournament is Iran – the team is in Group C with Indonesia, Lebanon and Chinese Taipei.

Meanwhile, Thailand is in Group A with hosts Kuwait, Iraq and Oman. Uzbekistan – the team that eliminated Vietnam 4 years ago – is in Group B with Bahrain, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
