“An attacker can build a specially designed website and hijack the browser by manipulating IndexedDB,” said Pieter Arntz, a security researcher at Malwarebytes.

This is a very important security update for Chrome users on Windows, Mac, and Linux. Meanwhile, the version for Android merely focused on addressing stability and performance.

To avoid being hacked, users should update their browser to the latest version by opening Google Chrome, typing in the command line chrome://settings/help address bar, and pressing Enter. When update 102.0.5005.61 download is complete, simply press Relaunch to restart the browser.
