Plane carrying 22 people goes missing in Nepal

The plane was carrying 19 passengers and 3 crew members. The 19 passengers included 13 Nepalese, 4 Indians and 2 Germans. The plane was reported to have lost contact while en route to the Jomsom area, 80 kilometers northwest of Kathmandu.

Nepalese authorities said that a number of helicopters were urgently mobilized to join the search for the lost plane, but the search process was difficult due to bad weather and limited visibility. The area has had rain for the past few days, but flights are still operating as normal.

In Nepal, home to the world’s highest mountain, domestic air crashes are not uncommon. The cause is attributed to erratic weather conditions and the runways are often located in difficult-to-reach areas.
