Gold price today May 29: SJC gold price reduced by up to 500,000 VND/tael

The world gold price has increased 0.4% this week. Currently, the spot gold price is at $1,854.1 per ounce, according to Kitco ., while the price of gold for delivery in June was recorded at 1,851.64 USD/ounce.

The gold market has managed to hold steady around the psychologically important $1,850 an ounce this week as the dollar eases from its highs earlier this month. The USD index ended the week below 102 points and down 3% from a 20-year high.

A weaker dollar and falling bond yields helped gold prices go up in most of this week’s trading sessions. Accordingly, gold went up in the first two trading sessions of the week (May 23-24) and touched the highest level in two weeks.

However, the uptrend of gold was stopped in the session of May 25 and continued to decrease slightly on the session of May 26. While gold is considered a safe investment in times of uncertainty, it is also very sensitive to rising US interest rates.

By the last session of the week on May 27, the gold price reversed to go up. At the end of this session, spot gold price increased 0.1% to $1,852.22 per ounce, thereby recording a 0.4% gain for the whole week. While the price of gold futures delivery increased 0.2%, to 1,851.3 USD/ounce.

Domestic gold price: Domestic gold price recorded an increase of about 50,000 – 100,000 VND/tael at most of the surveyed stores in the first trading session of the week.

The price continued to slightly adjust 50,000 – 100,000 VND/tael in the next two sessions, before decreasing by 800,000 – 1 million VND/tael on May 26 at all surveyed systems.

However, the market recovered again in the last two sessions of the week, with an increase of 100,000 – 400,000 VND/tael.

For the week, the domestic gold price has decreased by about 100,000 – 500,000 VND/tael.

Converted to USD price at Vietcombank on May 28, 1 USD = 23,340 VND, the world gold price is equivalent to 52.77 million VND/tael, lower than the selling price of SJC gold by 16.73 million VND/tael.
