The fence is attached with countless antique plates, broken ceramic pieces, vases, pots with all kinds of sophisticated and unique decorative patterns.
Stepping through the gate, inside are thousands of bowls, plates, pieces of pottery, ancient coins … which are mounted on the wall by Mr. Truong, bringing both classic, unique and novel features.
Sitting in the yard of his house surrounded by ancient bowls, plates and coins, Mr. Truong said that this year’s Tet is exactly 18 years since I started having the idea of making a house according to my preferences. Currently, he has thousands of bowls and plates from generations such as Han, Tang, Tong … of China to the Ly, Tran, Le, Nguyen … of Vietnam.
“Because a new house has not been built yet, antiques can be stolen, so I decided to attach them all to the wall of the house,” Truong shared.
According to Mr. Truong, on this new working day, his wife and children did not agree, sometimes the husband and wife argued because how much money he spent to buy all the bowls, plates, antique coins … attached to the house. Neighbors protested, said he was crazy, someone joked “have you been like this for a long time?”.
“This is my hobby, despite experiencing hardships, there are days when it’s hot at 40 degrees Celsius at noon, I still work on the ladder, or there are days when I work until 11pm. Currently, the house for me is a construction, not a simple house, a work for future generations, “said Truong.
The total area of Mr. Truong’s house is about 114m2, divided into many zones, each area is covered with antique bowls, plates and coins by Mr. Truong.
