3 Vietnamese students win gold medals at the Asian Informatics Olympiad

On the evening of June 1, the Quality Management Department (Ministry of Education and Training) informed that all 7 students in the Vietnamese team participating in the Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad won medals.

3 gold medal winners: Truong Van Quoc Bao (12th grade at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, Nghe An), Duong Minh Khoi (12th Grade High School for Gifted Students of Natural Sciences, Hanoi National University), Tran Xuan Bach (Class 12). Grade 11, High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences).

4 silver medals belonged to students: Le Huu Nghia (12th grade of Binh Long High School for Gifted Students, Binh Phuoc), Nguyen Nhat Minh (12th grade of High School for Gifted Students of Natural Sciences), Vu Huy Hoang (12th grade of Ha Long High School for Gifted Students, Quang Ninh Province). Ninh), Tran Khoi Nguyen (grade 12 of Hanoi National University of Education).

After 10 years participating in the Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad, this is the year Vietnamese students achieved the best results.

The 2022 Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad will be held online; Egypt is the host country.

The Vietnamese national team, consisting of 15 contestants, competed online at the University of Technology, Hanoi National University on May 29.

According to the regulations of the organizers, Vietnam is allowed to choose 7 candidates with the highest scores to participate in the award consideration.

Along with Vietnamese contestants, there are 881 contestants from 34 other countries and territories participating in this contest. In which, 186 children won prizes with 17 gold, 74 silver and 95 bronze medals.

Only 6 countries and territories have gold medals, in addition to Vietnam won 4, China won 6, Russia won 5, the remaining 3 teams were Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan with 1 each.

Yesterday, the organizers of the Asia-Pacific Physics Olympiad also announced the results with 1 student winning silver, 2 bronze and 6 certificates of merit.

The Ministry of Education and Training assessed that the results of these two competitions showed the efforts of students, teachers and schools amid the complicated developments of COVID-19.
