Female teacher was fired because she had COVID-19

He Yuxiu, a teacher at a school in Hebei, China last week received a phone call from the school confirming whether she had ever had COVID-19.

He said she was infected in February, but dozens of tests showed that she was completely cured and was no longer able to transmit the disease.

However, the school still required Hu to quit his job immediately.

Hu, studied for a master’s degree in Ukraine and is now a teacher of Russian at this school.

In March, she left Ukraine and returned home.

In a video posted on social media, Yu said she contracted COVID-19 in Kharkiv.

During the isolation process in China when returning home, Yu continued to be confirmed positive for the second time.

She was taken to a hospital in China for treatment. After recovering from the disease, she underwent more than 50 PCR tests before being given a “green health code”.

“I thought when the quarantine was over and I was given a green card, I would go back to being a normal person, living a normal life,” he said. Xu said.

The female teacher shared that she never thought she would lose her job just because of this and was worried that she would be unemployed for a long time.

Xu’s friends also recently cut off contact after learning she had COVID-19.

“I hope society can be more tolerant and understanding with patients who have recovered from COVID-19.”she shared.

The video above immediately became a hot topic on Weibo with millions of views. Many argue that the current society is too harsh on patients who have recovered from COVID-19 – which has been a persistent problem in China since the beginning of the pandemic.
