On the morning of June 2, talking to PV Infonet, Mr. Ha Van Thao – Secretary of the Party Committee of Vo Mieu Commune (Thanh Son, Phu Tho) said: “At noon on June 1, there were about 6-7 students in grade 6 invited to attend. They went to the Dan River to bathe, unfortunately, the three nieces drowned.”

According to Mr. Thao, at about 3pm on June 1, a group of 6-7 students from the same grade in the commune invited each other to the Dan river area (in the area of Vang hamlet, Vo Mieu commune) to bathe. Here, 3 children unfortunately slipped and fell into the river.
Seeing you in trouble, the remaining children ran back to ask adults to go to the river for help.
Immediately after, the people of the area and the authorities ran to the scene looking for victims and rescued them ashore. Although they were found not long after, all three children died.
According to Mr. Thao, the victims were all 6th graders at a junior high school in Vo Mieu commune. Out of the 3 dead children, 2 were in the same class. 2 children in Vang village, the other in Ban village.
The case is being investigated by the police.
