The launching ceremony of the festival “Join hands for green Hanoi”

This morning, June 3, at Ly Thai To Flower Garden (Dinh Tien Hoang, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi) the launching ceremony of the festival “Join hands for green Hanoi” took place in response to World Environment Day 5. /6.

The event is co-organized by Hanoi Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Hoan Kiem District People’s Committee, Center for Living and Learning for Environment and Community (Live & Learn) within the framework of the project “Join hands for clean air” Supported by the United States Agency for International Development. The festival has the participation of representatives of leaders at all levels, agencies, units and organizations in Hanoi city.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Do Van Nguyet – Director of Live & Learn Center said: “As a citizen of Hanoi capital, I feel very proud of the city, especially about the issue of Hanoi capital. Especially in the past year, we can see the great efforts, cooperation and contributions of the people of the Capital in environmental activities, regardless of class or age.

I hope that, whether from the perspective of people, businesses or social organizations, we will all see, understand, share, and carry out activities more quickly and efficiently. .”

The festival has the participation of thousands of young people who are green ambassadors from 100 schools in the city. Besides, there are waste reduction models shared by representatives of people in Dong Anh, Dan Phuong and Ba Vi districts.

Nguyen Quynh Trang (student of class 3A1 at Binh Phu B Primary School, Thach That, Hanoi) – one of the green ambassadors of the festival shared: “I feel very happy and proud to receive the certificate of merit from Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee. I will try to do more good things for the environment. I hope that other friends will also protect the environment so that the air in Hanoi becomes more and more fresh.”

Coming to the festival, the people of the capital and tourists will be able to participate in booths with initiatives and solutions according to the “green” model. The booths of the units are divided by themes: energy, waste reduction, clean air, green transport. Not only that, the festival also displays a photo exhibition on initiatives and solutions to protect the environment from the actions of Hanoi people in the period 2021-2022.

There are also fun activities to provide knowledge related to environmental issues and a performing arts program for the audience.
