On June 4, the People’s Court of Da Nang City opened a mobile trial for the first instance trial of Nguyen Vu Trong (SN 1983, resident of Hoa An ward, Cam Le district) for two crimes of “illegal trading in narcotics” and “stolen possessions”. illegal drugs”; Tran Van Trung (born in 1994, residing in Vinh Linh district, Quang Tri province) and Nguyen Thi Tra My (born in 1997, residing in Le Thuy district, Quang Binh province) are accused of “illegal trading in narcotics”.

According to the indictment, My is Trong’s girlfriend. Trong bought drugs 3 times from an object named Le Dai Hai (from Quang Tri)

The first time in February 2021, Trong bought from Hai 1kg of meth for 190 million VND, then Trung took Trong to Duy Xuyen district (Quang Nam province) and sold it to an object named Map (whose identity is unknown. ) for 260 million VND.

The second time, on March 12, 2021, Trong bought from Hai 2kg of methamphetamine for 360 million VND. After that, Trong Bao Trung was in Vinh Linh and went to Dong Ha City (Quang Tri) to receive drugs, but when he arrived, he suspected that there was a surveillance force, so he did not receive the goods.

On March 27, 2021, Trong continued to order Hai 2kg of methamphetamine.

The next morning, Trung took a car to Quang Tri to receive drugs. After that, Trung drove a car to take My and Trong to Le Thuy bus station (Quang Binh province) so that My could send a suitcase containing drugs for a passenger car to move to Da Nang.

At about 10 pm on the same day, the three of them went by car through Hai Van tunnel, when the garage called the gas station opposite Da Nang Central Bus Station to receive the suitcase.

About 30 minutes later, Trung drove Trong and My to opposite the gas station at the bus station on Ton Duc Thang street. At this time, Trung and My sat in the car, Trong walked to the gas station where the bus stopped to get a suitcase.

When Trong was holding a suitcase containing drugs and was about to get into his car, he was caught by the authorities.

At the time of arrest, through drug testing, it was determined that Trong and My were drug positive.

In court, all three defendants said that even though they knew how to buy and sell drugs, they were also arrested before, but because of the huge amount of profit, they “closed their eyes and took a risk”.

At the end of the trial, the jury sentenced Trong to death for “illegal trading in narcotics” and 2 years in prison for “illegal possession of narcotics”.

Tran Van Trung was sentenced to life in prison and Nguyen Thi Tra My was sentenced to 18 years in prison for the same crime of “illegal trading in narcotics”.
