Practical equipment, C-sized sedan but on par with “junior” Vios, Accen
On June 7, the MG5 sales consultant announced that the STD version had a selling price of 515 million VND, higher than the expected price of “4xx million VND” before. The Lux version is still priced at 579 million VND, which is 64 million VND more than the STD version. This model is expected to return to Vietnam in July, completely imported from Thailand.
MG5 STD was offered by sales consultants at 515 million dong.
MG5 belongs to the C-segment sedan segment, but the price of 515-579 million VND is only on par with the B-size sedan group on the market, such as Toyota Vios, Nissan Almera or Hyundai Accent. However, the MG5 is still not the cheapest C-size sedan, when there is also the appearance of Beijing U5 Plus (VND 398-498 million) from China.
Compared to the Lux version, the MG5 STD only uses 16-inch wheels instead of 17 inches, halogen position lights instead of LEDs. The front end is also a bit different when there is no gray panel around the grille. In addition, other details remain the same, such as the 3D grille, LED taillights, LED turn signals with integrated mirrors and dual exhaust pipes.
The interior of the standard version looks quite modern, but if you look closely, you can realize that some equipment has been reduced such as an analog clock instead of a large electronic screen, a mechanical driver’s seat and no sunroof. The steering wheel no longer has a Cruise Control button.
Despite being the standard version, the MG5 STD still has a large central screen and electronic parking brake. The car’s air conditioner is automatic with air vents for the rear seats.
The MG5 STD version still uses the same 1.5L engine as the high-end version, combined with an 8-speed simulated CVT gearbox for a capacity of 112 horsepower, maximum torque of 150Nm at 4,500 rpm. The maximum speed that MG5 can achieve is 180km / h.
