Prosecution of 4 people who collect money to ‘protect’ cargo ships at sea in Quang Ninh

Today (June 8), the police of Cam Pha City, Quang Ninh said that it had made a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and arrest and detain 4 subjects for property appropriation.

The subjects included Vu Huu Thu (also known as Den, SN 1993) as the leader and Tran Van Chuyen (SN 1969, both residing in Quang Yen town). Vu Dinh Phuong (SN 1969), Luc Quoc Minh (another name Bang, SN 1975, both reside in Cam Pha City).

Previously, the Waterway Police Department of Quang Ninh Public Security coordinated with the Cam Pha City Police to crack down on a special case to arrest a group of four people who were accused of appropriating property.

In the form of illegally collecting money for security and order from transport ships entering and leaving the sea of ​​Km6, Vung Duc in the area of ​​Cam Pha City, the group of subjects appropriated up to billions of dong.

At the scene, functional forces seized evidence including a wooden boat, documents and cash related to the collection of money from the subjects.

The initial investigation results determined that, from 2021 to now, every day the 4 above subjects take turns using wooden boats to collect security and order fees from transport ships entering and leaving the port of km6 with the amount from 100 to 200,000 VND/boat. Vessels that do not pay will be threatened by the subjects of property theft and property destruction.
