Sharing at the conference, Mr. Le Minh Manh – Deputy Director of the Department of Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention (A05), Ministry of Public Security – said that over the past time, the Department has strengthened the work of grasping the situation in cyberspace, especially for groups, social networking forums related to the sharing of study materials, mock exam questions, graduation exam questions… over the years. Since then, the Department promptly detected and handled problems and related situations that affected the exam.

“According to the situation, we see that there is still a situation of buying and selling high-tech devices to cheat on exams.

The tricks of the subjects were very sophisticated, carefully organized, prepared, built into a strict process, using a combination of many types of camouflaged recording and recording equipment to capture documents and then communicate. between inside and outside the exam room,” said Manh.

According to Mr. Manh, the cheating device used could be a button-shaped camera. “The cheating contestant will wear a long-sleeved shirt and button the camera. Candidates can contact external objects by means of intermediate devices and devices placed in the hallway of the exam room and connected to the button camera. They only need to equip themselves with pea-sized headphones that fit in their ears and an intermediate device that attaches to their lap. Thereby, after taking pictures, the subjects will have exam questions and solutions and then read the results to candidates through headphones “- Mr. Manh shared.

Manh said that because the subjects performed very sophisticated tricks, the technology also changed every day, so it was very necessary to be vigilant.

A representative of Department A05 also proposed that the Ministry of Education and Training not allow candidates to bring audio and video recording devices without network connection into the exam room – as the current regulation.

“Devices such as button cameras or bean bags do not have the function of direct contact with the outside, but are through an intermediary device. Not to mention, evaluating the device as having no or having a network connection is also very difficult. Even functional agencies such as the A05 and A06 Departments for assessment have to deploy specialized equipment for specific assessment.

There are devices that do not have broadcasting functions at first, but high-tech criminals can easily integrate hidden transceivers and transceivers inside, so it is difficult for us to control them,” – Mr. Manh explained about the proposal. for candidates to bring audio and video recording devices into the exam room.

In addition, Mr. Manh also proposed to strengthen propaganda information before the exam on issues related to violations of exam regulations, especially disclosure, passing exam questions… in order to guide, deter, prevent such violations as much as possible.

“Most of the students are not aware that copying exam papers and sending them out of the exam room is an act of revealing state secrets,” Manh said.

Also related to propaganda about the importance of the exam as well as awareness of security, Mr. Nguyen Chi Thanh – Deputy Head of Division 06, Department of Internal Political Security A03, Ministry of Public Security – said that the reality , many candidates, even teachers, are not fully aware of the seriousness of this problem.

“When we handle cases in 2021 related to the distribution of exam papers, many candidates do not know that they will be criminally handled.

There are cases where the participants in the exam are all talented students of the schools, only the bad actors pay 1 million dong to solve the exam that day. When we discovered it, we had to consider prosecuting and that story was really heartbreaking,” Thanh shared.
