Two days in a row, 2 US military planes crashed in the same area

According to RT, the Naval Aviation Facility in El Centro, California confirmed the crash happened on the afternoon of June 9. The helicopter crashed about 56 km north of Yuma city, Arizona state – USA.

Newspaper The Los Angeles Times The Imperial County Fire Department said it was called to Highway 78 near Palo Verde at about 5:43 p.m. local time because a military plane had crashed.

Half an hour later, the US Navy confirmed that it was a helicopter of this force, which crashed while participating in training.

Initial reports suggest all four crew members survived. One person suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital, commanding officer Zach Harrell said.

This is the second plane crash in the Imperial district in the past two days. On the afternoon of June 8, an MV-22 Osprey belonging to the 3rd Marine Squadron crashed near the Glamis area, about 48 km from the US-Mexico border. All five people on board were killed.

The Naval Aviation Facility at El Centro later denied that the MV-22 Osprey was carrying nuclear material. The crash comes nearly three months after four US Marines were killed in Norway during a NATO exercise using the same aircraft.

The US Navy and Marine Corps have been conducting exercises in Imperial County, in the desert on the California-Arizona border, for weeks.
