According to NeowinNTDev – a Windows enthusiast with the motto “Try everything so you don’t have to” – decided to install Windows XP on a system with a 1 MHz Intel Pentium CPU, which hasn’t been enough to run even Windows 3.0 since 1990.

As a result, running a relatively modern operating system on a processor from the 1970s takes a long time to boot: up to 3 hours. Even opening a simple application to display CPU clock takes a long time to launch, and the application itself is not very stable. Finally, shutting down Windows XP on a system with a 1MHz CPU ended up with a blue screen of death (BSOD).

Are known, Microsoft launched Windows XP in 2001, and at the time, the operating system required a CPU with a minimum clock speed of 233 MHz. Getting Windows XP to work on a system with a CPU several hundred times slower than the minimum requirement is a pretty interesting move NTDev made.
