Robbing a gold shop on a holiday

Vinh PhucVu Tien Giap pretended to buy goods to rob a 5.4-inch gold chain, leaving his motorbike behind when he fled.

On May 2, Giap is being held in criminal custody by the Phuc Yen City Police to clarify the act of robbery.

According to verification, around 6pm on April 30, Giap rode a motorbike from Binh Xuyen district to Phuc Yen city with the purpose of finding opportunities to rob property. To avoid detection, he covered the license plate with black tape. Arriving at Hung Vuong ward, Phuc Yen city, he saw an empty gold shop, so he had an intention to rob gold.

Pretend to be a visitor to see a variety of items and rob a gold chain of 5.4 points, worth nearly 16 million VND. Being chased by the shop owner, Giap left his motorbike at the scene and took a taxi home to Dao Duc town, Binh Xuyen district.

Giap said that “he was asked for a lot of debt, so he took a risk”. Arriving home, Giap told his family that his motorbike had been stolen and went to the Dao Duc town police station to report this fake news.
