When the students of class 6A7 at Vinh Quynh Secondary School (Thanh Tri district, Hanoi) were studying, the ceiling fan suddenly fell and hit 3 children, including 1 child who was injured and had to be hospitalized.

According to some parents with children studying at Vinh Quynh Secondary School, the incident of the ceiling fan falling during school hours took place before the holiday April 30 – May 1.

The sudden incident caused an uproar in the classroom. As a result, 3 students were hit by a spinning ceiling fan and sent 1 child to the hospital.

Talking to VietNamNet, Mr. Le Thinh, Principal of Vinh Quynh Secondary School (Thanh Tri district, Hanoi) confirmed the accident happened at the school a few days ago.

“That afternoon, the school organized to send students out of the hospital for examination and screening. Two children were hit by a fan, one was injured in the chin. The student who was injured and required stitches had to miss one day of school and was able to go back to school the next day. Currently, the children’s health is stable and normal.”

Mr. Thinh said the school had reported the incident to superiors.

It is known that Vinh Quynh Secondary School has just been built with an amount of more than 100 billion VND and put into use for a few months now.

“The school has just been built, so we also invite construction contractors to work. This is an undesirable event due to negligence and rare damage,” Thinh said.
