iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro Max are the most “expensive” in the world in the first quarter of 2022-Hi-tech fashion

According to the latest statistics, iPhone 13 and 13 Pro Max are the best-selling phones in the world in the first quarter of 2022.

iPhone 13 is the third “best-selling” smartphone of 2021 despite having only been on sale for three months. Therefore, the tech world is not surprised to learn that Apple devices have a strong start in 2022.

iPhone 13 dominates the smartphone market

IDC analyst Francisco Jeronimo reports, iPhone 13″ Apple’s smartphone was the best-selling smartphone worldwide in the first three months of 2022. This success was achieved despite the serious supply problems that Apple has faced in recent times.

IDC did not disclose the total estimated iPhone 13 sales nor the market share of each product. Previously, iPhone 12 and iPhone 11 were the best-selling phones in 2021 and 2020, respectively, so the success of iPhone 13 is not new. In Vietnam, iPhone 13 has a starting price of 20.99 million VND (128GB version), powered by the latest A15 Bionic chip along with dual rear camera setup and 6.1-inch screen.

Interestingly, the iPhone 13 has to go head-to-head with other Apple models. iPhone 13 Pro Max (6.7-inch screen) is in the top two in the list of best-selling smartphones in Q1 / 2022. This shows that users are willing to pay more to use a device with a larger screen.

iPhone 13 Pro Max is too “hot” despite its high price.

Next, iPhone 13 Pro with a smaller 6.1-inch display snagging a very respectable 4th place, the tiny 5.4-inch iPhone 13 mini doesn’t make the top 5. This is also the reason why Apple was forced to kill the small iPhone. To sum up, the iPhone 13 “family” accounted for 84% of total iPhone sales in the first three months of 2022. The remaining revenue came from the iPhone SE (2022) and older iPhone 12 and iPhone 11 models.

Can the iPhone 14 generation do better?

The above data clearly shows that Apple has found the perfect two smartphone sizes. And that could significantly increase demand when the iPhone 14 Series launches in September.

Apple’s two 6.1-inch iPhone models broke into the top five last quarter. These devices are intended for customers upgrading from an older 5.8-inch or 4.7-inch iPhone.

Users are preferring smartphones with large screens.

But what is more important is that the 6.7-inch iPhone Pro Max model is more expensive than the 6.1-inch iPhone version despite its high price. This trend has been going on since the launch of the iPhone 12 in late 2020, showing the demand for larger screen iPhones.

Therefore, the upcoming 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max will be a “gold mine” for the Cupertino-based company. This iPhone will offer everything consumers love: a bigger screen, a powerful chip, and a much more affordable price tag than the iPhone Pro Max.

Samsung is still the “hegemonic” in the mid-range segment

Returning to the current top 5, it was Samsung who managed to fill the void, albeit without the presence of the high-end Galaxy S22 series. Instead, the brand took up positions with two low-cost devices: the Galaxy A12 with the top 3 and the Galaxy A32 with the top 5.

Samsung is currently the leader in the mid-range phone segment and is likely to hold the crown in the coming quarters. Currently, the Galaxy A12 and Galaxy A32 have both been replaced by the newer Galaxy A13 and Galaxy A33, contributing to Samsung’s mission of providing 5G smartphones at every price point.
