Talking about the bronze medal after defeating Malaysia U23 in the penalty shootout, coach Shin Tae-yong shared: “Everyone has seen the players’ performance. This is a tough match. But they did their best until the final whistle blew. You see, U23 Indonesia has only 14 players capable of playing. Only two players (other than one goalkeeper) can come on as a substitute.

Overcoming these difficulties, we finished the match. I am very grateful for the performance of the players. Hereafter, they will be the core for the AFF Cup and Asian Cup. We will rest a bit before embarking on a new journey.”

For his part, U23 Malaysia coach Brad Maloney said: “Malaysia U23 tried as hard as he could. But the defeat against U23 Indonesia is a bit difficult to accept. Our players played more than 100%.
