Manchester United are the least effective spenders in the English Premier League season 2021-2022

Manchester United spent almost £1 billion in the 2021-2022 season. However, what they get is not commensurate with the money spent. According to statistics, Manchester United was the least efficient spending team in the English Premier League last season.

Manchester United spent a total of £980m on salaries and player purchases during the 2021-2022 season. However, what they received was only 6th place on the English Premier League table with 58 points. On average, Manchester City reds have spent £16.9m per point in the league this season.

This is also the highest number of all 20 participating teams. Obviously, this is an issue that coach Erik ten Hag and the board of directors need to look at in detail next season.

Contrary to Manchester United, Brentford is the team that spends the most money in the Premier League last season.
