“Optimus is designed to do things that are repetitive, boring, or dangerous. Basically, those are the things people don’t want to do,” the Tesla CEO said. He thinks that one day, humans may be able to load the power of the brain into Optimus.

“We can load the robot with the most distinctive personality of a person. Of course, if someone no longer exists in the world, this robot will take care of preserving their memory. I think we completely can do it,” the South African-born billionaire affirmed.

According to Musk’s description, Tesla Bot is about 172 cm tall, weighs 56 kg, is made from light materials, can travel at a maximum speed of 8 km / h, carries 20 kg of goods, lifts 68 heavy objects. kg. The robot’s head integrates the camera used in Tesla electric vehicles, allowing it to sense its surroundings and a screen to display information.

Basically, this robot is operated by the same AI system on Tesla’s electric vehicles. Musk said the robot was designed to be “friendly and navigable in a world built for humans” and to fill the void left by labor shortages.

In a message to investors earlier this year, Musk affirmed: “Optimus is the most important product we work on this year. The project has more potential than the car business over time.”
