All weapons, equipment, vehicles and goods of the Vietnamese Engineer Team will be transported by the United Nations by sea from Hai Phong port to Sudan port; then transport by road to Khartoum (Sudan) – Kaduqli (Sudan) – Abyei (UNISFA).

According to the original plan, from March 2022, the Vietnam Engineers Team had to be present at the mission in Abyei and begin to carry out the task, however, due to problems and difficulties with ships and national waterways In economic as well as in ship technology, this train was delayed compared to the expectations of Vietnam and the United Nations.

Vietnam’s 1st Engineer Team joined the United Nations peacekeeping force with a total of 184 people and was the first time that Vietnam had an Engineer Team participating in the United Nations peacekeeping force, also the the unit-level formation with the largest number of Vietnamese members ever participating in peacekeeping.

It is expected that at the end of April 2022, the front-line group will set out to receive all these goods and equipment from the port of Sudan and at the mission in Abyei. After the advance team arrives at the mission and deploys the barracks with communication and office systems, the main group will arrive in Abyei expected on May 10, 2022, before this area begins the season. rain.
