Russia and Ukraine continue to evacuate people

Over the past few days, more than 18,600 people have been evacuated from dangerous areas in Ukraine and the Lugansk region as well as Donetsk, to Russia, said the head of the Russian Federal Center for Defense Control, Colonel Mikhail Mizintsev.

On the Ukrainian side, the Deputy Prime Minister of this country announced that, yesterday alone, 2,800 people were evacuated from cities in this country through humanitarian corridors.

Overall, the number of people displaced by the conflict is equivalent to more than a quarter of Ukraine’s population, according to the International Organization for Migration.
